Plant and Inspire (Black Eyed Peas)

Since 2006, Adobe has provided youth in underserved communities with an educational curriculum called Adobe Youth Voices (AYV). Through software donations, grants and on-location training, this program is designed to give children the critical skills that are needed to become active and engaged members within their communities, specifically as it relates to self-expression, creativity, digital and citizenship. As a means of building global awareness around the AYV initiative we developed a campaign called "Plant and Inspire".  Partnering with the Blackeyed Peas and their Peapod organization I worked with GSP, Blitz, Psyop, and MassMarket to create a national PSA TV spot, advertising, branding and web experience to support the movement.
Every idea starts with a seed. And once planted, that idea can grow and flourish, so long as it’s properly nurtured. This is the AYV philosophy as well as the overall foundation behind Plant Your Ideas. Within the Flash experience, users are invited to create a unique flower that conveys their personal story and artistic journey by using preloaded images, personal photographs (through Facebook® connect) and a written narrative. In addition to the visual tools, we also incorporated a music player that allows users to mash up existing Black Eyed Peas tracks and add to their flower. Once finished, a user’s flower is uploaded to the gallery for others to view and rate. The application also gives users the ability to share within their respective social networks.
